Sophie Adelman is a Serial Entrepreneur, Startup Advisor, Board Member & Angel Investor.

Most recently she was Cofounder & CEO of OneGarden, a lifelong learning startup, which was acquired by Saga Plc in 2023.

Previously she cofounded & scaled Multiverse.io, whose most recent round of $220m valued the business at $1.7bn - Europe's first EdTech Unicorn.  Multiverse is focused on building an outstanding alternative to university through apprenticeships.  At Multiverse (previously known as WhiteHat) she led a team of c.200 and raised multiple rounds of funding from top tier VCs, including Index Ventures, Lightspeed & Village Global. 

 

Prior to Multiverse, Sophie was the Head of Sales EMEA and European GM for Hired.com, the developer recruitment platform, which she launched in the UK in 2014 as Hired's first international employee. Sophie has also worked for RIT Capital, Egon Zehnder and Goldman Sachs.  She has an MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business and an MA (Cantab) from Cambridge University.

As well as her entrepreneurial endeavours, Sophie has Board Experience in both the for-profit and non-profit spaces.  She is a Mentor for Xpreneurs at the TUM Venture Labs (Munich) and Cambridge Founders (Cambridge University).

Sophie has angel invested in over 25 startups in the UK and Europe including Farewill, Otta (exited to Welcome to the Jungle), Tunic Pay, Civic Marketplace, Progression (exited to Careerminds), Ruka, KareHero, Audiomob, Isometric, Captur.ai, Jump, XigXag, Hook, Tahora, TrueCircle & Exponential, amongst others.
